Day 1! Rome
we arrived in Rome on Friday the 10th and we basically chilled at the hotel and walked around our area of town. then we ate dinner and went to bed!
Day 2!! Rome continued!
So we rose early on Saturday the 11th to get ready for a day of sightseeing in Rome with Vastours! We started the day at the Vatican! I love that place!!!!! We made our way through the Vatican Museum! However, this time I got to see Rafael's rooms...which he only painted one room - in that room was the School of Athens! Also the floors have the marble that once lined the Colosseum...Catholics ;) After we finally finished the Vatican tour we went to lunch!!! OMG was it amazing....it was the best lasagna that I have ever had!!!! :D For the afternoon tour we went on a tour of ancient Rome! Basically we saw the forums and end up at the Colosseum! We arrived back at our hotel and we made our way to dinner and went back to the hotel and went to bed!
Day 3!!! Rome still continues!
We got up a littler later than yesterday! :) We walked Rome in 11 hours! Yes you read that correctly 11 hrs!!!!!! that was crazy!!!! We walked to the Triton Fountain, then to the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, two piazzas, and the Colosseum!! and then we ate dinner and watched the sunset and the Colosseum lighting up! After taking pics of the lit up and then walked back to the Trevi Fountain to see it lit up at night - the best way to see it! - and made it back the hotel!!! We were super tired and just crashed!
Day 4!!!! Siena!
We got up at 10 and made our way to the train station! I wish that I didn't have to run around Siena to see a bunch of chruches and just had so time to soak up the vibes of the city. I did meet this girl, Erin, who is studying abroad over in Siena. She just told me all about the city.
Day 5!!!!! Siena (a tiny bit) & Florence
We walked around Siena and saw the San s. Dominico, and Saint Katherine's something...i don't remember. We then had lunch and caught a train to Florence. When we arrived at the train station, we made our way to the taxi line. We end up with this lady who has the most outrageous cab ever!!! I wish that I had taken a picture of it. I really believed that I was Alice and I had just fallen down the rabbit hole! It turns out that she gives free rides to sick children, which is super sweet. It also makes sense as to why the car is so crazy. When we made it to the hotel we took naps and then walked around a bit and found a place to eat, came back to the hotel and went to bed.
Day 6!!!!!! Florence
We woke up and began to walk around we went and saw the David!!!! ecckkk! We then made our way and saw the Doumo and the Baptistry. We then found a place to eat lunch and waited till it was 2pm for our trip to Pisa to begin! Once in Pisa we saw the Baptistry, the Cathedral, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa!!! Then we walked to this other square and saw what is now the University for the Sciences and it is apparently very hard to get in.... perfect scores are required. Well in one of the buildings is where a man was sentence to die of starvation with his family, which became the story for the last circle of Dante's Inferno. It was very cool! Then we left Pisa and made our way back to Florence. We were dropped off at the train station, we got McDonald's from the train station and caught a cab back to the hotel to watch my super sweet sixteen and Clueless the tv show in Italian!
Day 7!!!!!!! Florence & trip to Venice
We walked to the Basilica of Sante Croce! This is where Michalanglo, Machiavelli, Gallelio, and Dante are buried and many more people! Also we made our way to the Pointe Vechio, ate lunch, and made our way to Dante's house. Before for you actually get to Dante's house you come across the church that he attended. In the church there are some very beautiful pictures of Dante and Beatrice. After seeing Dante's house - we did not have time to go into it - we made our way back to the hotel and got our bags head for the train station to Venice! It is a 3 hr. train ride.... but a very lovely one! When we finally got to Venice it was late and we were tired.
Day 8!!!!!!!! Venice!!
We walked around Venice seeing the sites. We took a gondola ride and went to St. Marks square....full of tables and pigeons!!!! We then ate lunch and made our way to the departing point for a trip to three of Venice's Islands - Murano (glass making) Burano (?) (lace making) and something with a T ( it has a church on it).... we then made it back to the dock and went for dinner and saw the bridge that Venice is famous for... i can't remember the name!! We made it back to the hotel and went to get gelato for our last night in Italy!
Day 9!!!!!!!!! Back to London! :)
All we did was wake up and go to airport to fly back to London!!! I was so happy to be back on familiar ground. As much as i love Italy, I was ready to be back in London!!!!
